Ministries

Faith First Men is a southern gospel ensemble comprised of men from First Lutheran Church of Crystal and Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church. They participate in worship services and special concerts during the year – both in churches and in the greater community. Bonfire Grief Support Group

The Bonfire Grief Support Group meets every Sunday from 3:45-6:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church year round.  They offer a 13 week seminar to help individuals work through their grief.  Each session is “self-contained” so you do not have to attend in sequence. Call the Bonfire Parish Nurse at 612/408-2049 for more information.   

Bonfire Caregiver Support/Respite Care

The Gathering Place offers Care Receivers a safe and enjoyable social opportunity and offers Care Givers education and ongoing support.  Meets at 10:00 a.m. at House of Hope Lutheran Church on the first and third Tuesdays of the month year round.  Call the Bonfire Parish Nurse at 612/408-2049 or The Gathering Place Coordinator at 763/236-4344 for more information.

FLCC Grief Support Group

An informal grief support group for people who are experiencing loss. We open with devotions and share our experiences in an accepting, confidential setting. Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. year round.

First Lutheran Church Women
Quilters meet the first and third Monday of each month September through May at 9:30 a.m. for fellowship while crafting quilts for those in need locally and around the world through Lutheran World Relief, for high school graduates, and babies who are being baptized.  Quilters also meet at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month year round.

In addition, the ladies coordinate funeral luncheons, Dinner At Your Door deliveries, prepare and serve lunch at Sharing and Caring Hands, assemble personal care, baby care and school kits for Lutheran World Relief and coordinate the card recycling program.

 Women on Altar Guild co-ordinate preparing and serving communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, make the communion bread, change the paraments and set up the sanctuary for special services.

Garden Club members keep the flower beds weeded (including the beautiful courtyard) and the shrubs trimmed.  Members meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings each month April thru October (weather permitting).

Members of the Senior Ministry Team set up and co-ordinate monthly luncheons/outings/entertainment (September thru May) for individuals 50+.  They also prepare and sell baked goods and used books.  Proceeds from these sales go to the Camp Wapo Scholarship Fund.

Loose Threads quilting group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 11:30 a.m. year round.
