Putting Our Faith into Action
We, at First Lutheran Church, stretch our hearts and hands across the ocean to people in need by participating in the Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Community Quilt Project.
Each May, the quilts we have created are draped over the church pews for everyone to see and enjoy. These quilts are blessed by Pastor Folkerts on Mother’s Day.
The quilts are then sent around the world to women, children, and men in need. These gifts make a difference by providing warmth and comfort. Since 1945 Lutherans across the US have been involved in this worthy endeavor.
The Quilters at First Lutheran Church invite you to join them the first and third Monday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Community Room. Stop by to get acquainted and see whether you would like to be part of this meaningful project. Meets the first and third Monday of the month at 9:30 a.m. Quilters meet for fellowship while crafting quilt for those in need.
Our quilt room is full of fabric, filler, quilt tops, and backs–ready for caring hands to tie, pin, and sew quilts for many different missions. Commitment is about 4-5 hours/month. We are trying to keep our ‘world’ warm in God’s love! So please consider joining us!

Sunday School
Held during the 9:30 a.m. worship service.
Kid’s Church
The first Sunday of each month
(no Sunday school).
Children stay with their parents
through the children’s message.
