A Firm Foundation

Although it is not yet visible, plans are well underway for the Thrivent Builds home construction project! The First Lutheran Thrivent Builds single-family home project was presented to city council last fall. The single-family home design fits well with the city’s vision for the neighborhood, and the council supports the project. We are confident that this project will be an impactful project for the community while serving a family in need.

Bill Bergquist, our volunteer extraordinaire, has rallied local Thrivent Chapter support to begin building this spring. The Northwest Minneapolis Chapter has already committed to build at the site for at least three weeks!

A Thrivent Builds Kick-off meeting was held on Monday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church of Golden Valley. Many ways to be involved with this ministry were shared.

Essentials needed for a strong foundation

First, we need prayer for all aspects of this project.

Next, we need to develop plans for the project, the home itself, and for the many ways to serve. Please prayerfully consider how you can become involved–whether you like to swing a hammer or not!

Then, we build the home! The actual ground breaking and building will begin this spring is the result of all of these plans.

God is on the move, laying a firm foundation to build this very special home for a family in need!
