The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m, from September 1st through May 15. They assist in leading worship and provide special anthems at the 10:00 a.m. worship service three Sundays of each month (September through Memorial Day). Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday they sing at both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services. They also provide music for Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

In addition, we present a Christmas concert during Advent and celebrate Music Sunday in May. These concerts include all the music makers at First Lutheran.
The Chancel Choir schedule begins the first week in September and continues through the week before Memorial Day weekend.

The Ladies Ensemble is currently a collaborative venture with Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church of Robbinsdale, and is open to any and all ladies who like to sing and who are willing to provide special music at both 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month. They sing a wide variety of music - both traditional and contemporary. They are directed by Anne Ng, the Director of Music at Faith Lilac Way, and they alternate worship participation each month between First Lutheran and Faith Lilac Way.

Their rehearsals are held from 7:00-8:00 P.M. on the first and third Monday of each month at Faith Lilac Way.

They, too, participate in our annual Christmas concert and in the Faith Lilac Way concert on the first Sunday in December. New members are eagerly sought and welcomed!

The Men’s Ensemble is currently a collaborative program with Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale, and is open to any and all men who like to sing and who are willing to provide worship music at both 8:00 and 10:00 on the second Sunday of the month.

Their rehearsals are held at 11:30 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month and at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. They sing a wide variety of music and particularly enjoy the barbershop and southern gospel sound. They are directed by Mariana Duffney, Music Director at First Lutheran and alternate their worship participation between First Lutheran and Faith Lilac Way.

The Men's Ensemble also participate in the annual Christmas concerts at First Lutheran and Faith Lilac Way on the first Sunday in December.

The Joyful Ringers is the name handbell choir at First Lutheran. They actually wear two hats. They combine with the handbell choir from House of Hope Lutheran Church to form the Jubilate Ringers, under the direction of George Brooke, House of Hope Music Director, and also maintain their own identity here at First Lutheran as a smaller ensemble under the direction of Mariana Duffney.

They rehearse at 7:00 p.m. every Thursday evening - alternating between House of Hope (as Jubilate Ringers) and First Lutheran (as Joyful Ringers). The Jubilate Ringers play at the 8:00 a.m. service on the fourth Sunday of the month - alternating between First Lutheran and House of Hope. They also play every few weeks as the Joyful Ringers at First Lutheran, on an ad-hoc basis. New members are welcomed into either one or both of the groups. Just contact Mariana.

Alleluia Ringers is the name of our Hand Chime choir, which is open to all interested ringers from third through sixth grade. They play for Sunday worship three to four times a year and also enhance some of our global hymns with rhythm instruments.

In addition to Sunday worship, they participate in special Sundays and our Christmas concert. Their rehearsals flexible - depending on their performance schedule. If you are interested - members are always welcome. Contact Sheryl Larsen at (763) 537-4110.
