Change is always about ‘Stewardship’

Pastor DaveIn separate articles in this newsletter you will read about some sweeping changes being made in the structure and responsibilities of our staff.

I pray that you come to know how much time, study, and prayer went into this new plan by many of your leaders. It will be difficult, to be sure, to see familiar people no longer in familiar positions. I and others thought about that long and hard. But ultimately, just as we ask all of you to be gracious stewards of what God has given you, we also must seek ways to be a good stewards of what the church members provide for us to do good ministry.

Meaningful, lasting change must always be about stewardship. In that spirit of stewardship the staff has been restructured. I truly believe this new arrangement will best serve the congregation during some challenging financial times and promote the very best use of our resources for the future God has in store for us.
In the leading article on staff reorganization, please note that the new structure envisions a more compact staff, but makes better use of their time.

Sadly, the new plan means saying “goodbye” and “thank you” to some who have served us well for many years. This is because we have found a new way to accomplish these tasks and some positions have been eliminated. In some instances, new positions have been created to accommodate our current and future needs.

It’s hard. But in the end, these changes are part of the transforming of the ministry for a new day that expects us to do more with less, do better with fewer tools, and look forward and not back.

Such is the stewardship of life in Christ.
